My dad has had a catheter in since mid Sept. Hes had a few infections and some bleeding since then. His doc says that since he cant void he may need to get surgery to have a permanent catheter put into his kidneys to drain or he may need to get his prostrate scraped (he has since finished prostrate treatment in mid 08) because there may be some enlargement of the prostate. Hes never had any problems going to the bathroom before this happened. They say that the bladder is now weak/lazy. Hes 71. Anyone out there whos had this or know of someone whos had a catheter in to long and had some issues on how to cope with it or get back to voiding on his own??? Thanks

My friend called me and told me that i gave him a bladder infection. i didn't seem to have any symptoms but i do get them. Are the contagious can you actually pass it to some one else during intercourse?

I've read that researchers have found a link between Interstitial Cystitis and panic disorders. Is that true?
