Tips to Ease Bladder Infections

If you have a bladder infection, there are a few things you can do to ease your discomfort.

To ease bladder infection symptoms, try the following:

  • Stay hydrated. Drinking ample amounts of water will dilate your urine and will also help you urinate more frequently, which helps to flush out bacteria. Avoid drinking coffee, alcohol, sodas and citrus-containing beverages, as these can irritate your bladder.
  • Apply heat. Using a heating pad can help minimize pressure or pain. Place a warm heating pad over your abdomen.

Of course, you should always see your doctor if you think you have a bladder infection.
